At Leedy Dental, we believe everyone deserves to have a complete, confident smile. If you're missing teeth or living with ill-fitting dentures, Dr. Leedy and Dr. Webb have the advanced training and technology to place and restore dental implants all in-house in Abilene. We would love nothing more than help you restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence again.
Because at Leedy Dental, we have our very own dental lab with leading technicians to help us complete the whole process - from surgical precision placement, to a beautiful new crown, bridge, or a full set of implant supported dentures - all from the comfort of your dental home. Here are just a few reasons to choose our team at Leedy Dental to help you restore your smile:
When you lose teeth it creates more problems than just leaving an unsightly gap in your smile. After the loss of the tooth, you will begin noticing that the surrounding jawbone begins to deteriorate without the root of the tooth to support and stimulate the growth of bone. The adjoining teeth start drifting out of place and compromising your bite.
Traditional fixtures like dental bridges and dentures will not help in preserving the jawbone and often need replacement or repairs. You can enjoy a long-term solution along with a beautiful and natural-looking smile with dental implants.
Dental implants are designed to replace the tooth root, and can then be fitted with natural looking restorations like crowns, bridges or dentures. The biocompatible and decay-resistant titanium post acts as a natural root and will stimulate bone growth. It will also provide you with a stable solution for biting and chewing securely.
Dental implants cannot be removed, and therefore, you will not be required to worry about adhesives and embarrassing issues with removable restorations. With proper home care and regular maintenance, you can rest assured that dental implants will last a lifetime and can ultimately save you time and money.
Traditional full dentures include an acrylic base designed to mimic your natural gums. The base of the upper denture shields the roof of your mouth, while the lower half has a shape of a horseshoe to accommodate the tongue. Today, we also offer implant supported dentures that don't require the base, so they're less bulky and more life-like and secure.
If you are a candidate for dental implants, we highly recommend securing dentures with implant supported dentures. This is the most life-like option as they don't require denture adhesives and don't cover the roof of your mouth. Implant dentures also prevent jawbone deterioration and stimulate new bone growth, while allowing you enjoy your favorite foods, and clean and maintain them just like natural teeth.
Some of the advantages of dental implants and implant supported dentures include:
If you have suffered from bone loss due to missing teeth and are not a candidate for standard implants, we may still be able to help you with mini implants. Mini implants are smaller than traditional implants so they require less bone structure to place and are generally more affordable than standard implants. Talk to your Abilene dentist to find out which option is best for you.
All-on-4® Teeth in a Day is a complete dental implant-denture system. Traditionally, with implant supported dentures, a healing period of several months is required for the extraction site to heal, and then the implants to heal and fuse properly, leaving patients with no teeth. With All-on-4® Teeth in a Day, we are able to extract teeth, place implants and fit you with a full arch the very same day!
For a full arch of teeth that need to be replaced, a secured, Fixed Hybrid Bridge is attached to the implants the same day they are placed. The implants and the arch stabilize each other, allowing for optimum healing and function. This gives you a new set of teeth the same day that your old teeth are removed. They don't have to be taken out and you don't need adhesives.
We use the minimum number of implants (four) to support the maximum number of teeth (a full arch). The angle at which the back implants are placed allows us to support more teeth with fewer implants - saving you time and money! They are very comfortable as they don't press down on your gums and can help restore your facial features. You can eat all your favorite foods while experiencing the hot, cold and taste of your food. Say goodbye to traditional dentures with the revolutionary All-on-4® Teeth in a Day system!

Whether you have dental anxiety, or you have a busy schedule and would like to complete the whole process in one visit - from extractions to implant placement, to a new set of teeth - we have several sedation options to help make your appointment as comfortable as possible. With dental implants, most patients opt for IV sedation, because it is the deepest form of sedation. You won't have any recollection of your time in the chair, and your appointment will be over before you know it. At Leedy Dental, restoring your smile with dental implants is easy!
