Get Your Perfect Smile

If you decide on bonding and contouring, the dentists will complete the procedure in a single office visit which normally takes about 30-60 minutes per tooth. It is quick, easy and painless and requires no prep work.

The bonding material used is composed of a liquid composite resin which is custom shaded to match the natural color of your tooth. The resin is comparable to the clay which is used by sculptors. Essentially dentists bond the resin to the tooth’s surface in order rebuild or touch up the look of your tooth.

The procedure is quite simple and easy to understand. Dentists will first roughen up the surface on the tooth and apply a conditioning liquid which will enable the bonding material fully to adhere to the tooth.  The dentists will then creatively sculpt and apply the resin and harden it up with a curing light. Polishing the bonded tooth is the final step to create your beautiful smile.

Do you have chipped tooth or gaps between your teeth?

Cosmetic bonding is considered as an affordable and an aesthetically pleasing alternative to porcelain veneers. If you are interested in the concept of porcelain veneers but do not want to commit to them for life, you are recommended to choose bonding and contouring provided the dentist finds you a suitable candidate for the procedure.

Bonding typically lasts for about 5-10 years and will require you to provide consistent at home oral care. You will also be recommended a regular touch up whitening to ensure that your natural tooth color matches the bonded area.

If you are ready to begin smiling more confidently you can make an appointment for bonding and contouring with your Abilene dentist. We will perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure.
