At Leedy Dental, we understand the thought of oral surgery can make any patient feel uneasy, especially those patients with any level of dental anxiety already. We want you to know that we will do everything we can to prevent the need for oral surgery in the first place, but if you do need oral surgery, you are in the best possible care with our skilled and compassionate team.
Thankfully, we live in a time where we can usually save a damaged or infected tooth before it needs to be extracted. However, sometimes it may still be in your best interest to have the problem tooth removed if there is a bad infection. If you have impacted wisdom teeth, or your teeth are overly crowded, we may also suggest an extraction to make room for the rest of your teeth to sit comfortably. If you do need an extraction, don’t worry, it is a fairly routine and painless procedure. We will walk you through every step to make sure you are comfortable.
At Leedy Dental, we’re proud of our investment in the latest technology that brings our patients the most minimally invasive, most comfortable, and most effective treatments available. Our soft tissue laser often eliminates the need for minor surgeries that involve scalpels and sutures. We are able to effectively treat gum disease and remove small abscesses and tissue abnormalities without cutting and sewing.
While many oral surgery procedures are performed under general anesthesia, we do have sedation options available to make the whole experience more comfortable. We offer oral conscious sedation to suit your needs. You will be closely monitored while you are under anesthesia or sedation, and will be given specific post-op instructions to follow to ensure the most comfortable, most speedy recovery.
