Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, or “laughing gas”, is a form of light sedation you inhale through your nose. You’ll feel very calm and drowsy while breathing in this solution, though you’ll remain awake. Once your appointment is complete, we’ll remove the mask and have you breathe only oxygen through the hose. You’ll be able to drive yourself home as this process leaves no aftereffects.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is moderate sedation you take about an hour before your appointment. It’s a prescription medication you take by mouth to help relieve feelings of anxiety. You’ll need someone to drive you two and from your appointment, as this sedation will make you feel very drowsy and relaxed. Some of our patients even nap through their appointments with this level of sedation!
